Myofascial Release for Health

A two-part workshop with Sue Brantley

Sunday, November 20   and

Sunday December 4, 2011, 10 a.m.

Class is full. 

Myofascial release (or self-administered massage) helps restore full function to the body by breaking up adhesions, improving blood circulation, and allowing the tissues to glide over each other more easily. This is achieved by using a foam roller, tennis balls, and small superballs.   Sue has created a handout with photos so you can easily incorporate the techniques into a home practice.

This workshop is great for easing chronic tightness, stress related discomfort, and pain from injuries. Sue’s continued exploration and study of this process ensures that you will learn new and fun ways to work.

 


Lower Body Focus:  Sunday, November 20, 2011   10:00 a.m. ~ noon.

This workshop will cover the feet, legs, and hips. This is wonderful for anyone experiencing discomfort anywhere in their feet, ankles, knees, hips or low back. 

Upper Body Focus:  Sunday, December 4, 2011, 10:00 ~ 11:30 a.m.

This workshop will be very helpful for anyone with pain in the mid to upper back, shoulders, neck, arms, elbows or wrists.  

Location: The Yoga Loft, Scappoose, Oregon

Cost: Lower Body ~ $35.  This includes a handout, a foam roller and balls. 

Upper Body ~ $30.  This includes a handout, a foam roller and balls. 

Full Workshop ~ $50.  Includes both handouts, one foam roller and balls.


 

Sue Brantley, certified yoga and Pilates instructor, has been teaching yoga since 1998 and Pilates since 2003.  She comes from a diverse movement background that includes several forms of dance, Tai Chi, and Qi Gong.  Sue began practicing yoga in 1985, and has studied with many respected Portland area and international instructors. 

 

She believes an eclectic approach to body work provides effective, inspiring and engaging classes, while keeping things fresh for each student.
